Been out of action for a bit

Sorry for the lapse in posting, but that kinda happens when you let your roommate borrow your computer, and you coincidentally end up with 25 virus’s on your computer, but he has no idea where they came from. I won’t go into too much detail cause quite a bit happened so I’ll just highlight some of the things that happened in my posting absence.

1. I picked up eMadrak and the Dygmies from the FLGS.
2. Attended JohnCon hosted by MenothJohn.
Played: Kthulu Dice which is quite a fun party game, a game called Chaos (I think) where my deity was the Prince of Pleasure, Gran Turismo 5, Cryx, and got multiple achievements including on for getting John a beer. Good times!
Things I learned: Argus combo strike is awesome! The Tharn Wolfriders are way more awesome than I remember, and Warmachine is a whole different animal.
3. Painted an Argus and the Gorax, basecoated a Woldwarden and a Woldgaurdian.
4. FoH: Circle of Orboros came out!
Need to get: Morraig, Bloodweavers, Skinwalkers, and Woldstalkers for theme forces.
Double up on: Druids (triple?), Wolves of Orboros, Tharn Bloodtrackers for tiers also.
I have never before been interested in Morvhana but reading her fluff lately and seeing her theme force has me intrigued.
Not sure what to think of Cassius, haven’t even picked him up yet.
5. I got Towers of Midnight!
Brandon Sanderson is an amazing writer and I am happy to say I have met him.
Rand isn’t all angsty and a whiny bitch anymore.

And that about sums up what has happened. Some things that are coming up

1. Slow growth league starts in January, its paint as you go and we are officially allowed to start painting so as soon as it’s a warm enough day to prime I will start on my trolls.
2. Finals week, can’t wait for this semester to end!
3. Christmas. Hope this doesn’t sneak up on anybody.

Final notes

1. Anybody not listening to Lost Hemisphere Radio should start immediately!
2. Check on the Fourth Wilder I haven’t been able to look yet but I am willing to bet the next part is up. If not, pester Brandubh till he writes more :) Link is in the side bar, go now!

And Stuff...

So as recently stated, I have started Trollbloods. Played my first games with them tonight and loved them both, even though I lost both. But that comes with the new army. The first game was against Cygnar, which I lost because I was full on my beasts and couldn't transfer. My opponent even gave me the "moral victory" cause he knew he was sunk.
The second game was a three way batllebox game against the same Cygnar player and a Skorne player. Madrak decapitated Morghul then died to an arc node, Cygnar wins again.
Lovin the Trolls so far. Tough is awesome and I went 4 for 7 on the checks tonight, will try to keep an ongoing tally of those. We are doing a slow-growth league starting in January, but get to start painting for it in a week or two, will see if I can get a camera for pictures.

This is the "and stuff"

I love the Wheel of Time. I recently started reading The Knife of Dreams again, and I forgot how much I enjoy reading this series. Robert Jordan is a great writer and Brandon Sanderson will keep the series at the top. Towers of Midnight just came out and unfortunately I haven't been able to get it yet, and probably wont for two weeks. After this there is only one more book till the end and it's been quite the ride. For those who haven't read this series, I would highly recommend it.

In other Hordes-news, I picked up a Trollblood battle box, so I will have them to write about now which will also constitute the "and stuff" part of this blog.

The Fourth Wilder

Since I couldn't find my Circle story and I recently found a better one I figured I would share it.
It is a story about a girl named Salestria who is recruited/rescued by, I believe my favorite Omnipotent, Mohsar the Desert Walker. This story is very very well written by a man known as Brandubh in the Privateer Press forums, and can be found here or in the Linky section. Pleasant reading all.

Not to be found.

The Circle story I wrote was not to be found. I searched everywhere in my computer for it, crashed windows explorer multiple times, and didn't find anything close.

In other news we finished up the League at my FLGS tonight, and though I wasn't even close to winning the league, I did win the closing tournament!

It was a 35 point attack or defend scenario, cant remember the name, three control points were spread along the defenders deployment zone. The attacker got a point for each control point he controlled at the end of the game, while the defender got one for each cp they controlled at the end but also could earn one by killing the enemy caster/lock. If the defender wins the round they defend the same table against a new opponent.

I ended up using the pKrueger list every round.

First round I play against Protectorate of Menoth for the first time ever. The only things I remember from his list are:

Some other light jack

lots and lots of infantry
I ended up winning on turn 2 with a caster kill and 4 control points when he ran Harbringer up to far to tie up the druids. I geomancied chain lighting into the solos twice and he martyred multiple times Harbringer taking 5 damage total. Then Pureblood sprays a solo catching the Harbringer for all but one last damage which Krueger took care of with his feat.

Round to was against Circle his list as I can remember:

He killed my Feral with his charging Feral on turn 2. Those amazing dice stayed with him the whole game and mine whiffed continually. I still managed to keep him away from the cp's and eventually dice down was called without him ever contesting one so I got the 3 cp's

last round was against Cryx:
Caster = Unknown but it was a chick with base armor 20 I think but I may be wrong
an arc node
a heavy amphibious jack with ghost shot
another jack not sure if it was light or heavy
lots of infantry
This game saw Krueger, the pureblood,and the blackclad all mow through a lot of infantry but his caster also was at armor 23 when I tried to kill her so that failed. He ended up Shooting Krueger without contesting a cp just to end it so I got the last 3 points for the win.

The last game was kind of anti-climactic I know but I'm not complaining

I will try to get more information on my opponents lists and post them later.

Whiff

Well my first rambling into blogging was a complete and utter fail. Lets see if I can actually follow through this time.

I will try to find a terrible Circle based story I wrote for a class fall semester of last year and post that, at least that will be something on this page for you to read other than the nonsense so far.

New to blogging

Alright I'm giving the whole blogging scene a shot. As soon as I take some pictures of my models I have painted/am painting I will post them and I will work on a story and battle reports, lord knows I have the free time for this so I will try to provide you people something to do in yours.
